🌍✨ On Tuesday and Wednesday, high school students from French 🇫🇷, German 🇩🇪, and Spanish 🇪🇸 classes visited our 8th graders! 🔙 Throwback Thursday: A Glimpse into Amity High School’s Rich History! 🔙 Did you know the building on the corner of Rt 662 and Weavertown Road has a history that dates back to the 1930s? Originally constructed for the 1931-32 school term, the first iteration of Amity High School consisted of 11 rooms, a gym/auditorium, and served grades 1-12. 🌟 By 1939, the school expanded with four new classrooms and a shop to meet the growing needs of the community. As Amity continued to thrive, another addition came in 1953, bringing with it four more classrooms, a cafeteria, updated lavatories, a remodeled gym/auditorium, and a modernized heating system. ❄️🔥 Fast forward to 1956, when a movement to enlarge school districts led to the formation of the Daniel Boone Joint School System, which included Amity, Birdsboro, and Union Townships. The changes didn’t stop there! In 1972, as Amity continued to flourish, seven more classrooms and a library were added to the building. 📚✏️ The final additions came in the 1980s with two more classrooms, and over time, the building became the Amity Elementary Center (grades 1-5) then transitioning to Amity Primary Center (grades K-2) when the new Amity Intermediate Center building was constructed. Due to inclement weather, the Daniel Boone Area School is CLOSED on Monday, January 6. There will be no virtual learning and this snow day will not impact our school calendar. We hope everyone has a fun, warm, and safe day. ***A special message for students attending BCTC*** If BCTC is open, BCTC students must log in to Schoology accounts and submit all assignments by the due dates, and participate in scheduled live virtual sessions with their teacher. If BCTC is closed, students do not need to log in to Schoology and assignments will be completed at a later date.

🌟 Youth Education Program: Hope for Youth Impacted by a Loved One’s Substance Use 🌟 Caron is offering a special program for youth ages 7-17 who have been impacted by a loved one’s substance use. This program provides a safe space for young people to know they are not alone and to find support and understanding. 🤝❤️ 📅 Program Details: Date: Saturday, February 8th, 2025 Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Location: Daniel Boone Area Middle School, 1845 Weavertown Road, Douglassville, PA 19518 Cost: FREE This is a valuable opportunity for youth to connect, heal, and learn how to cope in a supportive environment.
