Hello Blazer Learning Community,

I am excited to be starting my fifth year as Principal of Daniel Boone Area High School and 20th year in education. Since coming to the Blazer community in 2015, I have had met and worked with many of our stakeholders to strengthen our Blazer Learning Community here at DBAHS. We have dedicated, passionate, and creative people within our community that I feel honored to work with and serve.

A student’s high school career is an exciting and daunting time for parents. To assist our families during this journey we have strengthen our platforms for communication. Our main platforms for parent engagement is our Infinite Campus parent portal. Each day we are expanding the functionality of the portal. The expansion of the parent portal has truly enabled it to be a one-stop shop for information. At DBAHS, we will continue to build a supportive and collaborative environment for our students and parents. Parents, I challenge you to stay active in your student’s school life, even in the face of their attempts to assert their independence from you as they grow and mature into responsible young adults. It is only by staying engaged as educational partners that we can create an active and engaging school community that promotes a safe and positive learning environment.

As we look ahead to 2023-2024, I am excited to welcome all our Blazers to the high school and wish everyone a great year.  I feel fortunate to have this opportunity to serve the Blazer Learning Community and look forward to maximizing each student’s potential.

Thank you and Go Blazers!

Greetings Blazer Learning Community,

The 2023-2024 school year marks the beginning of my 17th year in public education.  This will be my second year serving in the Daniel Boone Area School District as an Assistant Principal at Daniel Boone Area High School.  I look forward to building relationships with students, families, the community, staff, and all stakeholders focused on learning in the DBASD.

I promote positive relationship building, engagement, and belonging to all involved in reaching the goal.  That goal is student growth, achievement, and success.  My previous roles in the Reading School District have given me a unique set of skills to lead students on the path to success.

Previously, I was a 7th and 8th-grade social studies teacher and the Dean of Students at Reading High School.  As the Dean of Students, I assisted in creating a safe and positive learning environment at the high school and helping students manage behavior, attendance, graduation requirements, and feel a sense of belonging in their learning community.  I also assisted students who were behind on their required credits to graduate close that gap, and understand the importance of education, graduation, and success.

I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Kutztown University and a Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University.  However, I am a lifelong learner.  Whether it is educational training or a “how-to” video on YouTube, I never stop learning and building my skill set.

My wife and I live in Berks County.  She is a 3rd-grade teacher.  We spend a lot of our time doing projects around the house and watching baseball.  We are both big Philadelphia Phillies fans.  I enjoy spending my free time outdoors, doing construction projects, or working on cars.

I strive to be an Assistant Principal that is approachable for everyone.  I’m here to assist on the journey to success, as well as celebrate achievements.  High school should be a memorable time filled with a lot of joy.  There are many extracurricular activities for students, as well as planning for the future, let's work together to make the high school years the best years.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me during the school year. I will be glad to assist in any way I can.

Hello Blazer Learning Community!

I am ecstatic to begin my 16th year in education here at Daniel Boone High School.  This will be my first year in Daniel Boone School District.  Before embarking on this new journey, I worked in a couple of schools, but most recently at Reading High School.  The majority of my educational career has been serving students as a school counselor.

Due to my previous role as a school counselor, I value the relationships that I can build with students, parents, staff and community members.  It is essential that stakeholders have a place where they can safely express their interests and concerns.  I look forward to helping students achieve their future goals, whether they be personal, academic or post-secondary.  There are so many opportunities after high school and I love to see the various paths that students choose to take.

Just to give you a little background on me, I was raised in Berks County almost my entire life.  I have 5 children.  One was in the Army and now lives in Colorado, two are in middle school and two are in elementary school.  I enjoy watching them grow and learn from their new experiences.

I believe that learning is crucial and everyone learns differently.  I am currently working on a second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.  I am hoping that it will help me to serve the students and the community better.

I cannot wait to learn with the students, parents, staff and community of Daniel Boone School District.  I feel that it if we work together, we can build an environment where students can continue to thrive and excel more than they have already.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.  This year is going to be great! Go Blazers!
