Yesterday, Mrs. Kennedy’s 3rd grade class took a hands-on approach to learning about Monarch butterflies by planting milkweed seeds outside! 🌱🦋 The students, who are currently observing Monarch caterpillars in their classroom, learned that these beautiful butterflies are almost endangered and only lay their eggs on milkweed. Eager to make a difference, they wrote to DBAIC Principal, Mr. Isselmann, requesting permission to plant milkweed at the school. This initiative will provide a crucial food source and breeding ground for the Monarchs. We hope that next year, the students will see the fruits of their efforts and witness the Monarchs thriving! 🌼🦋 #ButterflyConservation #HandsOnLearning #BooneProud
🚀✨ STEM Challenge Success! ✨🚀
Mrs. Worrell's 5th and 7th grade classes took on an exciting challenge: designing a zipline to safely and swiftly carry a passenger (a ping pong ball)! 🏗️🎯
Using the engineering design process, they: 🔍 Asked questions 📚 Researched 💡 Imagined possibilities 📝 Planned 🔧 Created 🧪 Tested 🔄 Reimagined 📝 Reflected
Along the way, they explored physics principles to enhance their designs. The result? Every single group achieved their goal of keeping the passenger safe and sound! 🌟👏
We’re incredibly proud of our innovative engineers at DBAMS! 🚀👩🔬👨🔬
