🚨 SUCCESS ALERT! 🚨 THANK YOU to our incredible HS Student Government, for running a hugely successful Food Drive across the district! 🙌❤️ Today, we wrapped up an amazing week-long collection effort spearheaded by junior Madeleine Scherzer. 📦🍽️ A special shout out to @Krise Transportation Daniel Boone for generously providing the bus to help us transport all the collected items from each building back to the high school for distribution! 🚌 We’re still tallying the final numbers, and we’ll have more details soon—including which grade levels came out on top as the biggest contributor in their buildings! 🏆 Stay tuned for the big reveal next week. 🔥 Thank you to everyone who donated and made this drive a huge success! The High School Student Government is hosting a non-perishable food item Food Drive this week, and we need YOUR help! Here's how it works: Elementary and Middle School: The grade that collects the most items will win a Movie Day! High School: For every five items you donate, you'll earn a raffle ticket for a chance to win some amazing prizes (see flyer below for details). Every donation helps, and together we can make a big impact in our own community. Donated items will be distributed to families in need right here in the Daniel Boone Area School District. A huge shoutout to Bo Shappell for being a finalist in the National State Teacher of the Year - Pennsylvania Chapter awards ceremony which took place this afternoon at the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Leadership Institute in Hershey! While he may not have taken home the top honor, he makes us proud every day of the year with his dedication and passion for teaching. 👏 Congrats also to Leon Smith of Haverford High School for being named Pennsylvania's Teacher of the Year! 🎉 #TeacherOfTheYearFinalist #BooneProud

The Caron Treatment Centers will be hosting a virtual parent program called PREP—a free, one-hour session designed to help you navigate today’s challenges with youth substance use. The program will cover: ✅ Current youth substance use trends (like vaping) and the risks to your child’s developing brain and body ✅ How to have effective, open conversations about alcohol, nicotine, and other drugs with your kids ✅ The importance of setting clear rules and consequences around substance use at home ✅ Building resiliency factors to protect your child from substance use ✅ Local resources for support and treatment if needed Mark your calendars for the upcoming dates: 📅 December 17th 📅 January 20th 📅 February 13th 📅 March 21st 📅 April 14th This is a great opportunity to get the tools and resources you need to support your child in making healthy choices. 📲 Parents can register using the QR code or link on the flyer.

🕰️ Throwback Thursday: Birdsboro’s Original High School – The Washington Building 🕰️ Did you know that the original high school in Birdsboro was called the Washington Building? (Pictured in the 1st photo) Built in 1896, it stood proudly on W 2nd Street and served the community for over three decades. 🏫 In 1927, the “new” Birdsboro High School – the Roosevelt Building (pictured here in the 2nd photo taken in 1945) – was constructed between Adams and Jefferson Streets on W 3rd, right behind the Washington Building. The last photo shows students leaving the old Roosevelt Building heading down the hill to the newly constructed Birdsboro Elementary building. Sadly, the historic Washington Building was demolished in 1970, but its legacy lives on in the stories and memories of Birdsboro’s past. 📸✨ *photos and information courtesy of berksnostalgia.com*
